Hello world!
This is just a place holder for now. I am going to convert my old content to his new site.
This is my attempt to make things look a little better around here…even if it’s just a wordpress template.
thanks for checking out the site!

Some friends and I had decided that it was time to take a trip to Colorado for a short vacation this year. Let me give you a run down of what we did/saw…
We started by heading for Idaho Springs, CO. Once we were there, we ate at a local pizza place called Beau Jos, which I definitely recommend for everyone that goes through the mountains on I – 70. The pizza was fantastic! Afterwards we just had a few beers and b.s’ed back at the cabin. Read more…
Ahhh….Vegas…one of two favorite cities of mine that I had previously visited.
We flew direct from KC to Vegas and one of the most interesting things of the flight was flying directly over Wamego and Manhattan. I had seen the Kansas River from the window and noticed the curves. I’m a huge map dork so I recognized the curves from the air and followed it right into Wamego. I bumped my gf and said, “Hey, I think that is Wamego” and she brushed me off as crazy because we had not been in the air for very long (~30 minutes) and sure enough, I looked further ahead and saw Tuttle/Manhattan.
Now normally I wouldn’t of be ‘THAT’ excited about seeing my old stomping grounds from the air, but this just happened to be a few days after the recent Tornado that blew through the west side and exploded the Amherst area of town. It was pretty obvious, even from the plane, where the path of the tornado went through, scattering a brighter yellow color all over it’s path. Read more…
I first started noticing the problem at the movie theater, where I worked during college, when I couldn’t read the titles to the arcade games from the box office. Originally I thought it was just my eyes but the glasses they gave me didn’t help and I could barely read 20/20 on their letter board. I had both cataracts removed within two weeks of each other, this being the first surgery. In December 2008, I had two more surgeries, one on each eye, to remove a film that was covering the old lens that they had to leave in place for my new lens, which allows me to see clearly beyond about six feet. Anything inside six feet though, I must wear ‘readers’…yea like those old people you see that have glasses hanging off their nose. That is me now and I’m not quite 30 yet. Go me! Read more…
Just a short update on the house today. I decided that I needed to get some of my guitars off of the ground or buy stands. I decided that I had a neat place on the wall for hangars, so I put together a little guitar board. Read more…
One of my irritations with this house from the get go was this toilet in guest bathroom. Not only did it look like a first generation toilet, it leaked like one too. This means that every few hours you will hear the tank refill for a couple seconds and shut off again. Read more…
I found out through the summer that even in the basement, it can get terribly uncomfortable in the basement. The reason for this heat problem is the output of heat from the projector. Little did I realize that it would put out so much heat that it can compromise an entire room of 75 degree goodness to a balmy 85 in just a few hours. Read more…
My friend Pete (Ryan - real name) and I played again. He came up for a couple days from Manhattan. We went to a Royals game and jammed out for a couple nights in the basement. He can really play some stuff and I don’t think he minds me playing drums to his stuff. Here are a few tracks that we laid down. Read more…
A few months before the tickets went on sale for these guys, Deanne, my gf, was listening to a song called ‘Mother.’ As soon as I heard it, I just knew I was going to like their stuff…. The next song she listened to was ‘The Joker and the Thief’ and I was hooked. I’m not sure where she heard it from originally but it was great. It felt fresh, yet had the same old english sound, zepplin type rock. A few months later, they announced a show at The Voodoo Lounge and I found my way there buying tickets on one of the first nights. Read more…
I know it might sound odd but the standard size of an exhaust vent for a dryer is 4 inches (across). In these old houses they had a standard 3 inch hole. You have a choice to buy an adapter or make the hole larger so that you can connect it correctly to your dryer. I chose to fix the issue correctly and make the hole 4 inches across. Read more…
