Basement Remodel, Part 3

With a lot of help from my father, we were able to get the sheetrock on the wall today.  Sheetrock, if you didn’t already know, seems to weigh a million pounds while you are trying to stick it on the ceiling.  It also is no fun when you cut a hole in the ‘rock’ and you end up an inch off. :) Read more…

Basement Remodel, Part 2

These pictures below will give you an idea of what it looked like after the old material was removed and the framing is on the walls.  There are pictures along the wall with the electric, cable, ethernet and speaker wire all ready to go for sheetrock.  All of the electric runs were put in place by my master electrician friend from High School.  The framing was done by my father and I, but mostly him while I was at work.  I was amazed at how much wall he could get up by himself while I was slaving for “the man.”  I ran all the cable/phone/ethernet wire and made the connections myself.
